the midst of autumn

Hello lovely beings! It feels like forever since I brought this blog to life with words and images. Autumn has finally arrived, and I couldn't be happier. I don't know where you all live, but in Sacramento it's very warm, and it takes a while for autumn to appear. Fall is my favorite season - it just warms my soul to see those leaves change color. I love how cinnamon and pumpkin seem to taste sweeter this time of year, I love the crunch of orange leaves under my feet as I walk down cold sidewalk, I love the talk of Halloween and the other upcoming holidays floating in the air... this summer was very stressful, so I'm happy that the season I love has finally arrived.
I have to admit that, despite my uplifted mood due to the seasons, I haven't been that passionate about photography lately... I can't understand it myself. I guess everyone has feelings of helplessness at some time or other, whether it's being discouraged about finding models, locations, or you just don't feel like creating. I've been having all of the above. But, I feel like today was a big step for me. I noticed some beautiful light outside, and whisked my brother in the front yard to shoot. I almost felt like my heart was lighter than my camera again. I have other ideas for photos planned out, including one I'm going to shoot at dawn tomorrow! I hope my love to create is slowly coming back to me!
October was indeed a busy month for me, I had something going on every week. So, I'll show some photos from my time, I haven't shot much lately, but I hope to tell stories through pictures again soon!

Outtake 1 of 2.

My cousin, Heather, let me photograph her - which is very rare!

But, my battery died so I had to use my uncle's camera in these photos of her.

My brother has cherub hair now!

Little streaks of light <3

My brother cut his hair for the first time in maybe 5, 6 years!

This photo made me feel good about photographing again <3

Hope you all are warm and well! I can't wait to transition into winter! <3
